ARTIFICIAL ME

Technology in the world is rapidly changing as people are coming up with great innovations. With this in site, Artificial Intelligence is taking over the world of innovations. But what is AI?

AI is a broad branch of computer science that is focused on machine’s capability to produce rational behavior from external inputs. It’s goal is to create systems that would perfom tasks that would otherwise require human intelligence. But then this raises so many questions like;what would the world be if everything uses AI? What if AI turned against humans? What are the benefits of AI in our daily life?

To answer all this, one need first to understand how Artificial Intelligence acquires it’s “intelligence”. The easiest way to understand how a machine acquires intelligence is by comparing it to human beings. For example, a child learns how to ride a bicycle by sitting on it and cycling around.Thuogh he/she may fall,by practicing they get to know how to ride a bike. Therefore, a machine acquires intelligence through trial and error method once it is done repeatedly.

As we grow older,we become sluggish and clumsy in carrying out tasks. Some tasks become even difficult for us to handle. Now imagine a machine that will help you carry out your tasks? Wouldn’t that be great? Therefore an invention like Robear ( a type of robot that functions like elder care) would replace care givers when they are not available to cater for the elderly.

Policemen risk they lives when they are faced by difficult and dangerous situations like when attacked by terrorists. Therefore, intelligent armed robots may be of great use in such situations. But this raises security questions among people. What if we arm intelligent robots and later they work against us? Or what if terrorists create them to cause harm to others? The United Nations guarantee’s safety of the people by setting out laws to govern the innovaters who come up with machines that use AI. Also a states government should give licences to every innovator that uses AI so as to know their motives for such innovations.

Although modern- day robots are imperfect, I believe in the future as technology advances, robots will become a highlight of the society.
